Phuket is perhaps the most popular destination amongst tourists coming to Thailand. While a great location for plenty of clubs, shows and beaches, Phuket is also rich for its history, temples, and plenty of shopping arenas. Here is some of the things we did, and perhaps you can follow as well Assuming you have a small layover in this city that doesn’t sleep.
Day 1

We got into Phuket by a lovely drive from Krabi. Along the way, the amount of greenery and beautiful terrains amazed us. As we got into the city, 2 things were common. 1. Traffic is bad 2. the city is vastly different in day and night. On our first day, we decided to relax a bit in the afternoon, went for a quick walk into the lively city and explored some local shops passing by the famous Patong beach. In the evening, we went for Phuket Fantasea show which great entertainment for not just families but also for couples. You can take a package with or without dinner. We opted to take dinner here and could also get some Indian options in the buffet. However, you need request for the same beforehand.
Day 2

We decided to do a complete city tour on this day, and give ourselves a cultural and scenic treat. We took the beach roads through Patong, Karon, kata, and Rawai. We then visited the hilltop from where you can see 3 different beaches of beautiful bay of Kata Noi, Kata and Karon, as well as Kho Pu Island, at one of the islands best scenic spots. We then headed back to Phuket’s southernmost and the windswept Promthem cape.
We also had a chance to see some flea shops, some pearl shops, but the highlight of the trip was the visit to different temples in city, from little Buddha to big Buddha temple, or Chalong temple. Our personal favorite was the Wat putta temple, away from city noise and left alone for us. In the evening, we strolled around the famous nightlife area called the Bangla road.
Day 3

No trip to Phuket is complete without some Spa. So this day, we decided to take it easy and went through an amazing Spa experience in our hotel Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong Mgallery by Sofitel. Before we did that though, we went to a beautiful private beach in the morning, which happens to be a private beach & people need to pay a nominal charge to get entry. Back from the beach walk, we decided to take a swim in the pool, before lunch and spa. In the evening, we went for the shopping again and wrapped it up by hitting one pub to another in night. There is no shortage of people, bars, nightlife in this city, we thoroughly enjoyed our final evening here before catching a flight back to Bangkok next morning.
